Spent yesterday watching Twilight, and also a number of episodes of True Blood on HBO. Really enjoyed True Blood. Thought it was clever, witty and engaging and imaginative. As for Twilight, the most disturbing aspect was that the group of immortals whom Bella comes to know are apparently doomed to repeat high school over and over: what a nightmare! Especially when an immortal could be having a fine time in Paris.

Let me add that Stephen Moyer as Bill makes a marvelous vampire in True Blood. What's so marvelous about this series is the mixture of serious material with witty and satirical material. The series perhaps has too much sex and violence for young adults, but it is wonderful fun and very absorbing. It's full of surprises. I'm hooked. I've ordered the novels by Charlaine Harris.
